Drumming her fingers against the wood counter top Emma started to hum. The bakery was so empty. If it wasn’t for her father being upstairs she would have been completely alone in the building. Alone and bored.
“Work the counter they say. It’ll be busy they say. You won’t be bored they say.” Emma sighed as she rested her head on the counter. A swelling urge to to scream boiled up inside her. “Liars!” She protested pushing off the counter almost knocking herself over. “Oh crap!” Quickly she scrambled for the other side of the counter and clung to it for dear life. “That was a close one.”
